Philip Ralls was a board certified Doctor of Diagnostic Radiology specializing in Radiology, Diagnostic Radiology and Diagnostic Ultrasound. He graduated from UCLA Medical School and was affiliated with USC County Norris Cancer Center.

Dr. Ralls passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, September 23.

Dr. Ralls’ contributions to Los Angeles Radiological Society spanned three decades. Beginning in 1981 as a Workshop Instructor for the 6th Annual Spring Diagnostic Ultrasound Conference, Dr. Ralls was a constant contributor to the Ultrasound Conference and the LARS Ultrasound Section throughout the 80’s, 90’s, and 00’s.
Dr. Ralls provided countless lectures and case reviews, served as President of the Ultrasound Section from 1984-86, offered sage advice to conference chairs, and most recently, entertained participants of the 37th Annual Conference on May 5, with his unique wit and wisdom as he moderated a panel of his expert colleagues in a discussion of today’s ultrasound imaging dilemmas.
Now, as we look to the future, as we plan dinner lectures and the 2013 Ultrasound Conference, it is difficult to imagine LARS without Phil Ralls.
Dr. Ralls dedication to ultrasound is only eclipsed by his dedication to his family and his pride in their accomplishments. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Renee, son Colin and daughter Whitney.
