Former Teacher Herb Dyer passed away November 5, 2018 after a yearlong illness at the age of 91. He taught at Rancho Alamitos High School in Garden Grove for 36 years.

John and I were best friends growing up. In September of '65 John went into the Navy. In 1969 we enrolled in Golden West College for one year. John moved to Kauai in 1970 after Larry Brown told him how fantastic the Island was. I took a 2 week vacation in 1971 and flew to Kauai for a visit and also stayed. John started his own sport diving business and worked on both Maui and Kauai. Larry and I attended the State paramedic program at Queens Medical Center in Honolulu and returned to Kauai driving the ambulance out of Wilcox Hospital. Tom married Sue Riley right after HS and they lived in San Demas Ca. Tom and Sue had 2 wonderful children. Darlene was born January 14, 1947 in Wichita Falls to Kenneth Pratt and Loveta Ozment. She moved to Olton in 1992 from Garden Grove, CA and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She was an EMT and Pre-Paramedic and volunteered for the Olton Volunteer Ambulance Association for 15 years. Her greatest love was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Philip Ralls was a board certified Doctor of Diagnostic Radiology specializing in Radiology, Diagnostic Radiology and Diagnostic Ultrasound. He graduated from UCLA Medical School and was affiliated with USC County Norris Cancer Center.

Dr. Ralls passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, September 23.

Dr. Ralls’ contributions to Los Angeles Radiological Society spanned three decades. Beginning in 1981 as a Workshop Instructor for the 6th Annual Spring Diagnostic Ultrasound Conference, Dr. Ralls was a constant contributor to the Ultrasound Conference and the LARS Ultrasound Section throughout the 80’s, 90’s, and 00’s.

Paul Sengir, Jr., served in the USMC in Vietnam.  He worked many years at L&S Construction, Inc.  He is survived by his father, Paul, Sr., mother Dorothy, and sister Kathy.  He fought a hard fight with the help of Hospice and many good and faithful friends who got him through his battle with cancer.
